Watching this episode reminded me of how much I loved Venice when I visited, and I would love to visit it again in the future.

One thing that struck me the most about Venice was the lack of any “city” soundscape whatsoever. The first thing that I heard when I got out of the train station (other than the chatter) was the sound of the water crashing against the canal banks (not cars!). It was ephemeral!

Bear in mind that I should have gotten off the train one stop earlier, but I couldn’t get out in time because I had forgotten to grab my hat. The doors closed right in front of me. So, I took the train all the way to the final station of Venice (Venezia). I panicked a little, but that panic went away once I saw the beauty and experienced the ambiance of Venice.
